When operating dangerous devices or utilizing tools, it would be beneficial to take the necessary protective equipment. Taking shortcuts in the job might result in workplace dangers. Instead, you should select the ideal tool for the job and apply it correctly. When utilizing tools and machinery, prioritize safety by following these guidelines:    

  • Only use such machines that you are trained and authorized to use. 
  • Keep your tools clean and maintain good working order.  
  • Organize the tools, and always the operator sees you, don’t approach it from a blind spot or behind.         
  • Never leave a machine running while no one is there.        
  • Always follow and obey operating instructions.         
  • Never remove or tamper with safety guards.        
  • Never walk in front of heavy equipment or heavy machines without wearing any safety dresses or gloves.    
  • Read and follow all the labels and instructions. 
  • Never place your fingers or another object into a running machine. 
  • Turn off the equipment or machine before moving, cleaning, oiling, etc. 
  • Only perform such activities that you have been properly trained to perform. 

Practice Effective Housekeeping

Always try to maintain a clean and organized work environment. Make sure that proper housekeeping is ongoing in a project where everyone is involved in and keep these tips in mind: 

  • Keep all floors clean and dry to avoid trips, slips, and falls.        
  • Remove flammable goods and store flammable materials away from ignition sources to eliminate fire hazards.
  • Dust should be kept to a minimum.
  • Keep mats clean and have distinct cleaning processes for different places to avoid tracking materials and cross-contamination.   
  • To avoid falling objects, follow the proper procedures.
  • Maintain a clutter-free workplace.
  • All materials and equipment should be carefully stored.
  • Inspect tools and personal protective equipment regularly to ensure that they are in good working order.

Reduce Workplace Stress

Heavy stress at the workplace can lead to difficulty concentrating and depression. This makes it hard to be motivated and alert during work. There are many causes to stress at work, including struggling with other matters, heavy workloads, long working hours and job insecurity.
